Basketball is a popular sport for boys and girls during the winter and autumn term.
There are several fixtures played against Independent and Local schools. The school also enters the Scottish school cup competition. In 2004 Gordonstoun reached the last four on this event.
Senior Basketball takes place on a Monday, Thursday and Saturday afternoon. The sport is also played during the evenings in the sports hall after prep. Several players practice at other periods during the week as well.
The sport is very popular at Gordonstoun and it demonstrates the international element of the school in a very positive way.
