Facilities

The Junior School is new, purpose-built and stands in its own grounds at the west end of the Gordonstoun campus.

The School retains its own identity while enjoying all the advantages of being part of a larger, parent School.

Teaching and learning

The main school building comprises classrooms, science laboratory, IT resources, library, assembly hall, recreation rooms and changing rooms.

Most lessons take place in the Junior School, but pupils also enjoy the advantage of being able to use top-class facilities in the Senior School for Music, Sport, Art and Design Technology.

Outdoor activities

Outside there is a large area of games playing space, sports pavilion and adventure trail.

Children are always encouraged to make the most of their wonderful campus outside at break times and at weekends.

Pupils also have regular access to sporting facilities that include:

Boarding

Boarders live in modern and comfortable rooms shared by a maximum of seven pupils.

Each girl and boy has his or her own cabin bed, which they can decorate and fill with their own things to create a real home-from-home atmosphere.

Catering

Main meals are taken in the Junior School's dining-room, a room of its own within Gordonstoun's main refectory building.

The facilities are of the highest order, as is the quality of the food, with plenty of choice available at all meals.

Mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks and refreshments at other times are served in the Junior School itself.
