About the Gordonstoun Association
Gordonstoun is a unique and special place and the bonds formed whilst at the School are extremely enduring. The influence of the School does not cease beyond its gates or indeed with the passing of time. The aim of the Gordonstoun Association (GA) is to promote and strengthen links between former pupils of the School and between those former pupils and the School itself.
The GA holds a number of events throughout the year and also provides support and advice to members of the GA who may wish to organise their own event or reunion. In addition to its social role, the GA can be a valuable tool for assisting in work placements or work experience and continuing professional development.
The GA will keep you informed through regular email updates of Events, Gatherings and Reunions in your area. It is therefore important that you update the GA of your current contact details including your email address.
Who's Who
The Patron of the GA is HRH The Duke of Edinburgh and the GA Chairman is Peter Ramsay. The GA Staff based at Gordonstoun School are Steve Brown, the GA Co-ordinator, Ben Goss, the GA Events Co-ordinator and Lucy Wickens the GA Office Secretary.
Reunions, Gatherings and Events
If you are a former student who has lost touch with the School or indeed you know of people who fall into this category, the GA office would be delighted to re-establish communication.
What are your friends doing now? Are you looking for an easy way to stay in touch or to find someone you have lost contact with? Maybe you want to arrange a get together and find contact details for your Year Group or House if so, take a look at our Facebook Group. To view videos, past and present look at our page on YouTube.
If you would like to host/organise an event, the GA office can help put you in touch OGs. If you are arranging a reunion etc please contact Lucy Wickens in the GA Office who will be happy to help.
The GA holds many Gatherings each year, including the annual 'GA Day' which is held at the school each spring. These events are fantastic opportunities for OGs of all eras to meet up, meet new friends and mingle with old ones.
News
News items are a great way to share information with other OGs. The topic can be anything you like. By posting a news item everyone who visits this site will see your news. To post a news item please contact Lucy Wickens in the GA Office.
Visiting the School
Gordonstoun would like to provide an open invitation from the School to all members of the GA to visit the School during term time. You should feel free to bring your family too. You will be made very welcome and given a tour of the school. There will be much that remains familiar but there have also been significant new developments. You will then be invited to have lunch in the Refectory with the staff and pupils, and if you left School more than a few years ago you may be pleasantly surprised at the quality and choice of the food you are offered! Please make contact through Lucy Wickens in the GA Office.
GA Obituaries
The GA will endeavour to publish all known obituaries, of former pupils, staff and friends. If you would like to inform the GA of a bereavement, please contact Lucy Wickens in the GA Office.
