Advent Service, Haddington
By Ben Goss
Over 40 attended a most successful, moving and memorable Advent Service in Haddington on Friday 27 November 2009. The church literally threw open its doors to us during a very very busy weekend, a weekend when the First Minister was visiting the Church for the culmination of The Saltire Homecoming year.

It was especially wonderful to have former pupil Alycia Fashae (Windmill 1990) singing a beautiful solo of O Holy Night, there was a great blend of staff, former pupils, and former staff participating.

Special thanks go to Georgie Middleton(Hopeman 1978) for organising such a fantastic evening, those little touches, that take so much time and effort, like the gingerbread beautifully wrapped and given to all the congregation made the event even more special.

There was a Gathering after the Service at the Victoria Inn in Haddington which was again a great success and there were about 50 people in attendance. We now look forward to the Carol Service in London on Thursday 17 December 2009 – All are welcome!
