Cricket Gathering in Ludlow
A Superb Way to Spend Mid-Summer in the West of England

A family cricket gathering was held at the lovely location of Downton Hall, near Ludlow. It was a wonderful blend of abilities and ages playing limited-over cricket - a match superbly enjoyed by men and women of all ages and abilities, who joined in a wonderful spirit of camaraderie. Former students took to the bat and the ball, their children, their wives, their friends and even their dogs joined in a happy game of cricket - all were winners.

At the start of the event Paul Segrott and Richard Davies organised Pimms and the day ended with a feast of barbecue food organised by the Segrott family. Over 40 attended the event and we were blessed with fine weather, especially in the light of the dreadful flooding that happened in the exact region 12 hours later.

Our thanks go to Paul Segrott and Richard Davies for organising this event and to Mark Wiggin of Downton Hall for inviting us to play on his glorious ground.
