Muirfield Golf Day
by Richard Devey

The annual Muirfield golf match, hosted by Greig Carnie (W ’62), between his team, containing a number of Muirfield OGs, and an OG team took place on Saturday 17th October in the most glorious autumn conditions. Greig captained the Muirfield OG team, with Angus Morgan (C ’62) leading the challengers. As is often the case with this battle, the match was extremely tight. With three matches in, it was all square, and all waited with anticipation for the final group to complete their round. In the end, victory went to Angus’s team, with the last pairing of Martin Scriven (RS ‘62) and Simon Stodart (RS ’58) securing the necessary single hole on the last. A fabulous day was then concluded with the famous Muirfield lunch, after which little of any substance was possible! All those involved are already looking forward to next year.
