This year is the 75th anniversary of Gordonstoun School and there have been events at the school to acknowledge this. On Saturday, 19 September the Gordonstoun American Foundation will be holding a reception at the Yale Club (Vanderbilt Avenue, New York) to commemorate this milestone. As well as members of the Board of Directors of the GAF, Mark Pyper, Headmaster of Gordonstoun will be present and will talk about 75 years of Gordonstoun which we hope will bring back happy memories of your time at the school.

Invitations are being sent to those on the East Coast but anyone in Middle America or the West Coast who can make it will be very, very welcome.

We are aware that the West Coast, when it comes to functions, gets neglected and we apologise for this. However, in April 2010 the Gordonstoun Drama department will be visiting Los Angeles to perform at several venues and we plan to have a function for all those OGs living on the West Coast and vicinity. More details will be sent out as their itinerary firms up but we hope very much that you will come and support them.

Skye Perko from California was chosen as the Gordonstoun American Scholar for 2009 and she attended the Gordonstoun International Summer School in July. She was an excellent scholar and a more detailed report will be found in the GAF Newsletter which should be produced in October.

We are hoping that all OGs in the USA will let us have a note of their email address so that we can keep in better contact. If you have time perhaps you will simply send me an email so that we can start collating the information:  needhamj@gordonstoun.org.uk
