Gordonstoun Plus Campaign
The Gordonstoun Plus Campaign was launched by HRH The Princess Royal as Patron in 2001. It had as its objective the provision of new improved resources for the School and the growth of Gordonstoun's endowment to ensure a full student roll which reflects the spread of contemporary society.
Phase 1 - NOW COMPLETE
The initial drive was to improve the Performing Arts facilities in the School. A magnificent new 200 seat theatre was opened in the presence of HRH The Princess Royal on the 3rd November 2005, and a significant extension to the Music School was opened at the start of the Spring Term 2007.
Both these additions to the facilities of drama and music have already had a huge impact on the lives of Gordonstoun students.
"Ogstoun Theatre has completely liberated the work of the Drama and Dance Department and we now have a high quality work, rehearsal and performance space to support the wonderful work that the students have been achieving over the past years.
Lessons, activities and productions have ensured that the building is in total use all days and well in to the night. It is now a vital and integral part of the way the department works and we could not imagine a life without it."
Nigel Williams, Head of Drama
Phase 2 - 'Raising Gordonstoun's Game' - Target £4 million
The next phase of the Campaign began in March 2005 and aimed to raise £4 million to replace the ageing Sports Centre and to further enhance the endowment fund for scholarships and bursaries. The current Sports Centre was opened by Her Majesty the Queen in the summer of 1967 and, despite serving generations of Gordonstoun students well over the years, it is now badly in need of replacement.

The decision to name the new facility The George Welsh Sports Centre is one that generations of OGs will appreciate, and more details on this exciting development can be found here.
Since its foundation in 1934 Gordonstoun has prided itself on the breadth of background of its students, made possible through the provision of an endowment fund for scholarships and bursaries. Young people of many nationalities, of differing intellects and practical abilities and from a wide range of social backgrounds have benefited from a Gordonstoun education. Gordonstoun ideally should be aiming to offer its unique education to any young person who is suited to the School’s ethos regardless of their ability, or that of their parents to afford the fees, enhancement of this fund is therefore of vital importance.

The Campaign target of
£4 million has been reached. However, due to the increasing costs of the Sports Centre, we are continuing to raise funds to ensure the best facility possible. For further information see Campaign News.
