Heather wins again!

Heather and Helen win gold in Rio


OG Heather Stanning (Plewlands 2003) and her rowing partner Helen Glover have retained their Olympic title, winning Gold in the Women's Coxless Pairs in Rio.

 

After an exciting race at the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas rowing venue, the GB pairing beat teams from New Zealand and Denmark into second and third places. Stanning and Glover secured the top spot with a healthy margin of 1.2 seconds over Behrent and Scown of New Zealand, and a further 1.2 seconds ahead of third placed Danish pairing Rasmussen and Andersen.
