Welcome to Aberlour House! Please take the time to read our website and you will gain a good impression of life in our busy Junior School.
As Head of the Junior School I live in a flat in the main school building with my wife, Laura, and our two children, Angus and Iona. We enjoy creating a family atmosphere, particularly in the evenings and at weekends, and we believe that a happy child is a fulfilled child.
We aim to cater equally for boarders and day pupils and achieve a balance in ethos and atmosphere which is beneficial to all. Flexibility is an important aspect of this, with boarders able to go home on all or some weekends, or stay at school and be part of the full programme which we operate. For boarders the ethos is strongly that of a full boarding school. Day pupils are welcome at school at weekends and overnight accommodation can be offered to day pupils if space is available.
I am very proud of the Aberlour House pupils who are very friendly and care sincerely about others. I am also extremely proud of their achievements and willingness to rise to new challenges. There are few children of this age who can treasure such experiences such as sailing on an 80 foot yacht, spending a week camping at the most northerly part of the Scottish Highlands, playing sport at a highly competitive level and at the same time making lifelong lasting friendships.
For a fuller impression I hope you will visit us at Aberlour House and see for yourself our positive atmosphere and the many opportunities available.
