Sporting and creative subjects

Regular afternoon sporting and creative activities and broader interests all form part of the core curriculum.

Students also have opportunities to pursue these activities after school and at weekends.

The creative subjects – Music, Drama, Dance, Art and Design Technology – all form part of the mainstream academic curriculum, but also feature in activities offered on weekday afternoons and at other times.

Gordonstoun has a strong musical tradition and individual lessons are available in a range of instruments.

Junior School pupils can also join the flourishing Gordonstoun Pipe Band.

Class sizes

Class sizes are small. They vary from year to year but average 12-15.

We also make special arrangements where necessary to teach individuals or in small groups.

Learning support

Staff and pupils are able to draw on the expert Learning Support Department at Gordonstoun.

The Department ensures that students with specific learning or organisational difficulties are fully provided for.
