Netball

Latest Netball News

Netball at Gordonstoun has always been a popular major sport amongst the girls. We are able to offer netball at a recreational and a competitive level. For those who wish to play matches there are two senior and two junior teams.

Our opposition includes local state schools, nearby RAF teams, and other independent schools across Scotland. We are generally very competitive and have achieved success in a wide-ranging number of tournaments. This has included the Scottish Independent Schools Cup.

Training for our teams takes place in activity time on two afternoons a week. Those who wish to play recreationally also have the opportunity to play in these sessions. Our inter-house competitions at junior and senior level provide a competitive and fun focus for the spring term.

In recent years our teams have toured in the North of England, as well as further afield in Spain and Dubai. These opportunities allow our students to enjoy competitive games, cultural highlights and complete all the necessary shopping requirements!!

Quotes from Students

'I enjoy netball as it allows us to work as a close team'

'We always try and succeed in each and every match, putting into good effect the skills we learn in practice sessions'
