The Big Quiz, Bristol - Friday 23 September 2011

By Melissa Munn (nee Jones) - Windmill 1984.

Jonathan Munn, my husband, is a classics graduate from Bristol University and was successfully developing a career as a mental health nurse when he was struck down with Multiple Sclerosis.

MS is an aggressive progressive and quite often painful condition which can be completely debilitating. In Jonathan's case it has totally finished his career and has left him battling every day with his mobility, balance, sight and often in considerable pain. Due to the chronic nature of the condition the type of care that Jonathan requires is not available on the NHS but has to be provided by the West of England MS Therapy Centre. We find the centre a lifeline for both Jonathan and myself and there is no doubt that they have managed to keep him out of a wheelchair and still independent.

To raise funds for the West of England MS Therapy Centre a Quiz has been organised at Cutler's Hall in Bristol on Friday 23 September 2011 hosted by Egghead Daphne Fowler. We would love to meet any OGs that would like to come to the quiz at Cutler's Hall, and we would love to hear from anyone with an interest in MS or who would like some support with a similar situation. It should be a fun evening in a really lovely venue. See details below:

DATE: Friday 23 September 2011
TIME:  7pm
VENUE: Cutlers Hall, Brasserie Blanc, Quakers Friars, Cabot Circus, BRISTOL.
PRICE: £35 per person to include buffet supper and welcome drink.

You'll be welcomed to the stunning Cutlers Hall with a glass of bubbly where you will then have a chance to flex your grey cells and rise to the challenge of Al & Roddy's fun-filled quiz, written especially for the MS Therapy Centre. During the interval your taste buds will be titillated by the chefs from Brasserie Blanc before you are once again challenged to find the answers to some very tricky questions. Drinks available from the cash bar. A raffle will take place as your quiz papers are marked, before the answers and scores are revealed.

Tickets are just £35 per person, and teams are made up of six people. If you would like to join in but cannot fill a whole team, we will match you with others!

To book your tickets please contact:

About the Charity.

The West of England MS Therapy Centre, based in Nailsea, provides care and support for people with Multiple Sclerosis in the Greater Bristol area. Multiple Sclerosis is the most common cause of disability in the UK and usually strikes people in the prime of their life. With only limited care available on the NHS it is the MS Therapy Centre that provides the essential ongoing care that helps people to live well with MS, to keep advancing symptoms at bay and to recover after a period of relapse.
