Ski Patrol Exercise

The Ski Patrollers arrive at Clashindarroch Forest   Taking a tumble

Members of the Ski Patrol took advantage of the recent winter weather to head over to Clashindarroch Forest to help with a ski orienteering event. Twelve students and Mssrs Cox and Barton arrived early in the morning to help clear the trails ready for the event.

Despite excellent snow, many of the lower ones were covered with small twigs and two trees were down, blocking the main route, because of stormy weather earlier in the week. The Patrollers set to, helping to saw up the larger trees and clear smaller branches from the trails.

Enjoying a rest in the sun and snow

They then did some training on classic techniques and went on a 10km tour of the Haute route. The weather was excellent - clear and bright with no wind - and everyone had a great time, even enjoying the ski jumps at the end after the famous “roller coaster trail”!

I can`t go any further!   Skilfully keeping one`s balance after the ski jump
