Mike Banks

In last winter’s GA magazine you may have read a piece by Brisbane-based OG artist Mike Banks (Cumming 1976). The piece featured a stunning painting which Mike sent across for the art exhibition on GA weekend and which he subsequently and very generously gifted to Gordonstoun.  He has just moved to new premises at 507 Stafford Road, Stafford, Brisbane, QLD 4053.  Tel 07 3352 3772  www.movingcanvas.com.au where he has his own art practice, www.banx.com.au. Mike was keen that members of the GA based in Australia were aware of his move and writes as follows:

‘We are a partnership, offering contemporary art for sale and rent.  The rental option is good for businesses wanting to show art on office walls, and for people selling a house who want to style the properties for sale.  We’ve been offering the service for the last ten years.  People come to the gallery, or send images of their property, or we visit them, and we take the art to the premises and hang it on the day.  We’ve even been asked to respond quickly on occasion, and the record for art being hung on a client’s wall is one hour from first contact to the art being installed’.

Please do have a look at his website and call in and see him if you have the chance.
