Spring Term 2017

Mountain Biking Weekend

A group of intrepid mountain bikers embarked on a fantastic weekend of skills development last weekend.

Ready to go   Advice from Mr Park

Mr Park shows how it's done on a slab   Ready for a night ride

Saturday took us across to Laggan Wolftracks where we looked at a whole range of factors not least line choice, with snow flurries coming through awareness of the affects were critical.  Low cloud created a very atmospheric experience for all.  We worked on specific skills such as riding big slabs, drop offs and rock gardens.  After a hearty dinner we went on an exhilarating night ride through the local woods to another local bike park which the students loved.

Due to lower temperatures on Sunday we headed North towards the coast to explore Sanquhar woods skills track.  All students came away having really developed their ability and confidence on their bikes, it was an amazing experience for all which will help them enjoy their mountain biking more in the future.
