Spring Term 2017

Update on Year 2/3

The pupils of Year 2/3 have been discovering that learning is great fun ... and not all of it is done in the classroom!

Year 2/3 on the Buckie lifeboat

People Who Help Us
The pupils have been learning about ‘People Who Help Us’. They have been thinking about how to keep themselves safe and who to ask if they need help. As part of the project we have had two exciting trips. The first was to visit the Lifeboat at Buckie and the second was a great chance to learn all about Gordonstoun’s Fire Service. The pupils had a fantastic tour from the Fire Service and Mr Clarke. They got to try on firefighters’ clothes and helmets, ride in the fire engine, test out the sirens and learnt how to use the hose to put out a fire.

The Enormous Crocodile
The boys and girls have loved reading Roald Dahl’s famous story The Enormous Crocodile. The book has many fantastic characters and the pupils were always wondering what mischievous plan he would come up with next. They made a great display of a crocodile, brainstormed adjectives and found lots of exciting time connectives which they will now try to use in their own writing.
