A huge 'Thank You' to everyone who was involved in the recent inter-House triathlon - competitors and their recorders, First Aid Service spectators and supporters - who all ensured that this was yet another very good event involving ots of effort, determination, commitment and Plus est en Vous. Seventeen student teams and three staff teams took part which meant there was a total of 51 competing students and 9 competing staff as well as 20 recording/officiating students.
The first team home was the Cumming senior boys team in a very respectable time of 36:10 minutes, the second team, a staff one, consisted of Messrs Voller, Baird and Georgeson who were just over a minute behind at 37:20, third place to the other staff team of Messrs Schonken, Cook and Monteith in 38:29 minutes.
Eleven intrepid individuals took on the whole event and one of them, Liam B, swam the 21 lengths twice before completing the whole event.(His first swim was for the relay team event.)
The first individual home, having swum 480 metres, cycled 6 km and run 3.5km in a time of 40:57, was the double swimmer Liam B – a superb effort from him. Next home was Mr Richardson (42:48) with Iain Loder of Cumming House taking the third spot (45:49). Results were then as follows:
4th - Robert M, Bruce (49:43)
5th and 1st Girl - Holly H, Windmill (51:17)
6th - Katy M, Plewlands (52:20)
7th - Issy McK, Windmill (52:32)
8th - Kieren W, Duffus (54:20)
9th - Ruairidh G, Round Square (57:56)
10th - Davud A, Duffus (52:42)
11th - Greg I, Round Square (64:32)
12th Charlie O
A total of 61 students competed, supported directly by 29 others who were prepared to give up time to support their fellow students. This is an excellent reflection on all of those involved.
Thanks are also due to those staff who helped today without whom the event could not take place - Miss Desmond and Mr Denyer, Mrs Morton and Mr Devey in particular for taking care of the time keeping and generally overseeing the event.
