Summer Term 2017

Unaccompanied Expeditions

Wild camping

Seventy five Year 12 students recently participated in their final unaccompanied expeditions in wild, beautiful and remote parts of the Scottish Highlands. The unseasonably cold weather forecast focused the students during their preparation. Everyone ensuring they had suitable and appropriate clothing and equipment. Groups were self-sufficient throughout the three days, taking ownership of their navigation and campcraft as a team; whilst coping admirably with the challenges of two very cold nights camping in the hills.

Ready to set off   Keen to get underway

The summer expedition season is well underway at Gordonstoun, we are now just left hoping the sun to comes out and it begins to get warmer.
