News from the Junior School - Week 12
Junior School Concert Band Perform
On Saturday, the Junior School Concert Band travelled to Inverness to compete in the Scottish Regional Finals. They did superbly well, achieving a Silver Plus award and qualifying for the next round. It was an outstanding performance from the young musicians; well done to all, and thank you to the staff from the Music Department who helped make this event possible.
Green Group Litter Pick
Last week, the Junior School Green Group carried out a litter pick around the School campus. They did a great job in helping tidy up several areas, leaving our grounds looking as beautiful as they should. It serves as the perfect reminder that we can all do our bit to look after the environment, and it can start with something as simple as picking up some rubbish!
Junior School Remembrance Service
Last week we held a Remembrance Service in Chapel, allowing everyone in the Junior School the chance to reflect and pay their respects. It was a wonderful service, where Mr Schonken reminded us of the tremendous sacrifices that have been made for us, as well as speaking to everyone about the importance to putting aside differences and working together to make a stronger and safer world.
Highland Games Charities Chosen
At the last Junior School Highland Games Committee meeting, it was decided that the NSPCC and Children 1st are the two charities supported by the Games this year. These organisations do incredibly valuable work to help young people, and the money raised at our Highland Games will be specifically directed to their tasks in Moray.
Planning for the Highland Games is well underway with meetings of the committee taking place regularly.
