Gordonstoun Literacy Drive
In conjunction with the English Department, Mrs MacCallum (Director of Teaching and Learning) is promoting a whole school literacy drive to foster the love of reading amongst the students.
All adult members of the school - from the Governors to the teaching staff to the operations staff - have been asked to display a poster in their office or place of work which states what they are currently reading. It can be anything from The Angling Times to The Complete Works of Shakespeare with a myriad of genres and styles in between. Our pictures show some of the staff and students with their current books to demonstrate that lots of people, no matter what age they are or where they are, like to read for pleasure.
Governor Gregg Davies is reading The Tiger Annual 1961; the Principal's Private Secretary, Mrs Sarah Wheeler is reading The Dry by Jane Harper; and the Ogstoun Staff are reading - Miss Harvey-Jamieson (listening to) The Radio Lab Podcast, Mr Martin: William Shakespeare's Star Wars, Mr Hoskins: Ben Fogle's Land Rover: The Story of the Car that Conquered the World, Mrs DaBell, Michael Wolff's Fire and Fury
Headmaster Mr Titus Edge is reading PG Wodehouse's The Code of the Woosters; Mrs Joanna Morrow (Marketing) is reading The Third Sin by Aline Templeton; and Head of the Junior School, Mr Robert McVean is reading Norwegian Wood - Chopping, Stacking & Drying Wood the Scandinavian Way by Lara Mytting
