News from the Junior School - Week 4
The Junior School Science Garden
Last year, the Junior School received a very generous donation to create a science garden in the space in front of the Year 2/3 classroom. Mrs Csenki has led this project and, with help from the children of the Junior School, has already created a wonderful place for us to grow plants and for wildlife to come and settle. Many of the teachers have already taken the opportunity to head outside with their class and help out.
As you can see, the Junior School Science Garden is already being well used by all members of the Junior School. However, we would like to create the greatest bug hotel of all time - the Plaza of bug hotels, if you will. With that in mind, we would like to make a plea for: bricks, terracotta pots, slates, tiles, canes and small round logs that you might have at home. We have been busy collecting creature comforts from around the grounds (and school staff), but anything you can donate would be gratefully received. The aim would be to make it look similar to the bug hotel pictured here. This is a rival five star bug hotel in Hopeman which is proving popular with touring bugs as well as ones living locally.
Junior School children made fabulous contributions to the school Art Competition. They designed panels for the Art Department building and these panels will be installed by September. Congratulations to Gillespie, Jack, George, Maria, Jenny, Cade and Katie P who created the marvellous winning designs.
