Summer Term 2018

Bugsy Malone

‘Anybody who is anybody’ flocked to Ogstoun Theatre at the end of the Spring Term to enjoy the Junior School production of Bugsy Malone. The cast, including every child in Years 7 and 8, worked tirelessly throughout the term to stage this energetic, exciting and extremely messy performance!

Bugsy Malone

Bugsy Malone (Angus B) is the hero of this fun-filled story about the changing fortunes of Fat Sam Stacetto (Alice CR) as he and his hapless gang of dancing, singing hoods try to survive against gangland heavy Dandy Dan (Yuly K) and his sharp shooting, splurge gun-toting gang. Fat Sam and his beautiful, talented girlfriend, Tallulah (Lucia M) can only stand by and watch as his great empire collapses around him. Meanwhile, we follow the romantic progress of Bugsy as he attempts to win the affections of ambitious showgirl, Blousey Brown (Katie C) whilst juggling his career as a boxing manager with helping Fat Sam out of his tricky predicament! Thank goodness love and friendship win out in the end as Bugsy manages to bring peace and co-operation back to the streets of New York.

With superb individual performances and vibrant, lively, fun filled whole cast show stoppers, the performance raised the roof of our theatre and put smiles (and quite a lot of splurge!) on all of our faces.
