Welcome to the Junior School

New students and teachers - Autumn 2018

A very warm welcome was extended to all new children and staff at the beginning of the term. This week we have welcomed 35 new children and four new staff. Here they are with Mrs Lyall and Miss  Hall.

Flag Service Starts the Term

Year 3 students help Mr McVean with the School Flag

The start of term was marked with our Flag Service when Mr McVean discussed the school motto, ‘Plus est en Vous’ and the school emblem of the Unicorn and how we should aspire to great things from day one, however elusive they may seem.

Congratulations

OG Michael Prendergast rowing in the Pacific Ocean

Old Gordonstounian Michael Prendergast, who started at the school aged six, became the youngest person to row across the Pacific Ocean during the summer. Now aged 23, he completed the crossing in 49 days 23 hours and 15 minutes on board the Isabel, pictured here. It was the school motto which kept him pushing to the very end and his incredible adventure was an inspiration to us all at our Flag Service.
