News from the Junior School - Week 3
Connor Roe Visits Gordonstoun
On Friday, Gordonstoun welcomed former student Connor Roe, who came to tell us about his daring efforts in helping to rescue the twelve children and coach that were stuck in a cave for 10 days in Thailand. His incredible story explained how he was given just four hours from his initial phone call until boarding the plane for Thailand. It was a three-day operation and took a total of eight hours to swim to the point where the children were and back again. The children had many burning questions for Connor from how deep was the cave to how the oxygen tanks worked. He was an inspiration to us all.
Impressive Awards Gained by Pupils
The children often receive awards outside of school and we love to celebrate them. George S (pictured) recently received a coveted Blue Peter Green Badge for creating the Blue Peter ship using just grass and ferns! Well done George. Alejandra R, Lucas R, Florence L and Michal K also
received their Cambridge English Level 1 Certificate in ESOL International.
Boarders Have Fun at Landmark
On Sunday, Mrs Main organised a trip to Landmark Adventure Park for all the boarders. Everybody had a great time on al the challenges - the clear favourite being the water slides! The children also enjoyed the rollercoaster, Ropeworx, skydive and the Labyrinth maze.
