Ocean Spirit of Moray

Those of you with a keen interest sailing may be interested to learn that the School’s sail training vessel Ocean Spirit of Moray has recently been equipped with a satellite tracking system which will enable you to follow the vessel whilst she is at sea.  Those who have an interest in sail training voyages or the Tall Ships Races can now follow their progress at http://live.adventuretracking.com/oceanspirit.  Please feel free to pass this link on to friends and family who may also have an interest in following Ocean Spirit.

Please note the following:

  • The tracking system is for interest and information only - it does not form part of the vessel's navigation or safety systems.
  • The positions shown are usually very accurate.  However, the yellow track line will only join the hourly reported positions (blue dots) and will not follow the actual track of the vessel.  As a result, the yellow track line will occasionally be plotted crossing a land mass!
  • The tracker is reset at the end of each voyage and, as a consequence, there may be periods when no position for the vessel is shown. The tracking system does not allow two-way communication between the vessel and the shore, so it is not possible to contact Ocean Spirit using this system.
