The Gordonstoun curriculum is unique in ensuring that all students in both the Junior and Senior Schools undergo outdoor education throughout their time in the School. These activities are not optional extras. They are essential to students' personal development plans and they are also included in School fees.

Placing students in a different context from one they normally find themselves in, is a powerful learning tool.
