Art
Work in the Art department encompasses a wide range of media. This includes fine art, textiles, graphics, sculpture, digital media and printmaking within the productive and vibrant studios. The mini cinema enables students to critically interact with art history, which is offered alongside the practical aspects of the subject.
Many opportunities are available to experience art in practice. We welcome visiting artists and offer life drawing, practical workshops, trips to Scottish galleries and museums. In the Easter term there is a residential visit to a cultural centre in Europe.
The School has a strong record of students entering distinguished Art Colleges to study art and design in its varying forms. These include architecture, history of art, interior design, textiles, film and media as well as the more traditional fine art and sculpture.
