Lots of Rubbish!

The Community Dance Company undertook a seven week project in Duffus Village Hall last term. Twenty five children aged 8 to 11 years came for weekly creative dance classes based on the theme of recycling with the company and Mrs DaBell.

The project was a great success culminating in a performance by the children in the end of term dance show at Ogstoun Theatre. It is hoped the project will run again in the Autumn Term.

Dance Show

The Dance Show was the culmination of lots of hard work by dance students from all years, but especially Year 11 who performed their practical compositions, many of which were outstanding. A special mention must go to Iona who created a poignant and extremely moving solo and to Tom and Stefanie for their sophisticated approach to their work.

Year 10 students proved they will be a force to be reckoned with next year and many Year 9 students had their first taste of dancing in a performance at Gordonstoun. Other work shown came from senior students including AS Dance students  and GY Dance Company.

We were also joined by our special guests - children from Duffus and Hopeman who had been working with The Community Dance Company. The whole evening was a great success.
