Duffus House
Welcome to the Duffus House web pages.

Duffus is the original Boarding House for Gordonstoun and was built in the late 17th Century.
We are situated in our own magnificent and extensive grounds which help give a great feeling
of being at ‘home' and away from school at the end of an arduous day.

Duffus is a very warm, friendly and comfortable house to live in. It is home to 57 boys and young men. They are accommodated in a variety of period rooms, occupancy of which can vary in number with the older students having single accommodation.
The house has a variety of social areas, a tea room, a TV room with digital TV, a pool table and table tennis table, a computer room, 6th Form Common Room and a mixed common room which is the only one in the school to boast a Minstrel's Gallery!
As Housemaster of Duffus I live in the house with my wife Cath, young son, baby daughter and our two dogs – Penny a black lab and Fern, a rather manic springer spaniel.
In the house we have a resident Assistant Housemaster, Mr Chris Chie, and are fortunate to have a very strong team of tutors who work closely with their tutees to ensure that every aspect of each students day to day needs are catered for. There will be at least one tutor on duty in the House every evening as well as myself or AHM. Our matron is Mrs Kay Brown who does an exceptional job of keeping all of Duffus on the right track!
It is very important to me that what we offer here at Gordonstoun and at Duffus is an exciting and stimulating environment which pushes and stretches our students whilst ensuring that they have all the support and advice they need to develop their full potential. This allows them to leave Gordonstoun ready to face whatever is thrown at them as balanced and well rounded citizens of the world.
I would like to think that Duffus House has been doing this for many years ... I suppose as a Duffus Old Boy I would say that!
A warm welcome awaits all who come to Duffus, be it as a new member of the house, parent or old boy.
