Gordonstoun House
Welcome to Gordonstoun House
Gordonstoun House is a small boarding house for about two dozen Sixth Form boys. It is situated on the top floor of the central 17th Century mansion, also named Gordonstoun House. Affectionately known as "G-House", the students who live there prize their position at the centre of the school, and the magnificent views of the estate that each room can boast.

The extensive South Lawn acts as the House "Cabbage Patch" or outdoor recreation area, and in fine weather football, petanque or cricket are often played before the backdrop of the ornamental lake. The situation also adds grandeur to House Barbecues, held in both summer and winter. There is a mixed Common Room, equipped with a small kitchenette and a good selection of entertainment devices. Many members of the House have an interest in music, and at appropriate times the South Room on the first floor may be used for practice. The House also fields enthusiastic teams for inter-house sporting competitions.
The House is run with the aim of providing a happy atmosphere of hard work and active leisure. The composition and size of the House, together with the grandeur of the surroundings, give the house a distinctive and civilised feel. Nevertheless it is not isolated from School life, and members of the House are particularly encouraged to assist in activities for Junior students on a school-wide basis. Students undertake general responsibilities both within the House and outside. Every member of the House takes it in turn to perform Rounds duty, a vital administrative task.
The House Motto is "Post Proelium, Praemium" (After the battle, the prize). The House Colour is Burgundy, and the House Emblem a Stag.
I teach Classics, am a member of the School Coastguard Unit and have a strong interest in Church Music. I also coach Junior Hockey and Junior Cricket.
