Our Mission Statement
To deliver evidence-based care to the junior school and senior school of Gordonstoun. To meet both the physcial and emotional healthcare needs of students. To promote and encourage a healthy lifestyle in line with the ethos of the Gordonstoun Schools.
The Medical Centre is staffed around the clock by our four fully qualified and highly trained nursing staff.
- Nurses' surgeries are held daily, seven days a week, at 1050, 1440 and 1815.
Outside these times students are provided with a slip to see Medical Centre Staff.
- Doctors' clinics operate from 1630 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. They are run by experienced, local GPs, Dr R Stewart and Dr J Mobbs.
The GP practice can accommodate any student who needs to see a doctor urgently.
- Physiotherapist Annie Griffiths attends twice weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- Medical Centre staff can also arrange appointments and transport for other medical appointments such as opticians and dentists.

Our nursing team have extensive medical experience in areas ranging from accident and emergency to high-dependency care and health promotions.
They can also provide confidential emotional advice and support to students in areas such as:
- Fears about aspects of study, such as examinations
- General stress and anxiety
- Bereavements and family separations
- Loneliness and home sickness
- Lack of self-confidence
- Low self-esteem
- Managing transitions
- Anger management
- Worries about appearance
Our nursing team have continued their professional development while working at Gordonstoun. This means they continue adding to the skills, advice and care they can offer students.
