Gordonstoun is well sited to make the most of the Scottish Skiing. An hour and a half after having left the classroom students can find themselves race training at the Lecht Ski Centre located within the awe inspiring Cairngorm National Park. The Lecht has an enviable snow record and its location near Tomintoul offers some of the best day's skiing in the country.

Over the last seven years Gordonstoun has been a force to be recognized within the Scottish Ski scene. The school's two race teams have consistently come third or better in the Scottish Schools' Championships and in 2007 the Boys' Team has qualified to compete in the British Schools' Championships in Les Menuires in France.

A Junior Race Training Camp is held each March in Switzerland to allow juniors to break into the Ski Race Training squad and from there to go on and represent the school.
