Taster Weekends and Open Days

Taster Weekends

We hold Taster Days/Weekends every term for those boys and girls who would like to sample what life is like at the Junior School. Pupils have the option of spending the night in the School as well, even if they are not intending to board when they become pupils. The emphasis of the day is on fun and it is a good opportunity for interested parents and pupils to experience the school in a relaxed and happy atmosphere.

During the weekend pupils will also be assessed for entry.  Assessment is used purely as a benchmark and standardised tests in Mathematics and Non-Verbal Reasoning are used. There will also be an opportunity to produce a piece of creative writing on a suggested theme.

Open Afternoon

We hold one Open Afternoon each term. The Open Afternoon for the Autumn Term 2017 is Friday 15 September from 1600 to 1730. Please come along for a tour of the school followed by tea. All families welcome. For further information please contact the School Secretary, Mrs Yvonne Hughes on hughesy@gordonstoun.org.uk
