We are holding our next Year 9 Taster Weekend on 30 August -1 September 2024 (for 2025 and 2026 entry).

This Year 9 Taster Weekend takes place just at the end of the summer holidays, either one or two years before a Year 9 entrant is due to join the School. It is open to everyone from those who have decided to join us, to others who are merely intrigued and want to discover what the School is all about. There is no charge and no obligation for the future. Boys and girls can look forward to a wide range of activities which reflect the breadth of the Gordonstoun curriculum. These include:

• Adventure sessions
• Drama, design or art
• Music, media or design
• Games coaching and shooting
• Scottish dancing (reels)

We also take the opportunity to do a gentle and informal assessment of the boys and girls, to ensure they’ll enjoy their time here. It is also an excellent chance for prospective students to get to know each other and many friendships are forged during the weekend. Parents are very welcome to join us too. As well as a local outing on the Saturday, there is a presentation and dinner with the school leadership team and pastoral staff.  On Sunday there are tours of the school and we’ll be happy to arrange individual meetings for all family members.

The benefits for the students who progress to Gordonstoun are real and long lasting. They are motivated for their final year of Prep or Junior School and will be confident about their future. When they arrive at Gordonstoun a year later, they’ll know the layout of the School, will have met the staff and already made friends. They will instantly feel part of the Gordonstoun family and will be prepared for five happy and fulfilling years in the School.
