Assistant Head Curriculum (Junior School)

Situated on the beautiful Moray Coast in the North of Scotland, Gordonstoun is widely recognised as the world leader in character education. We have a co-educational community of over 500 students aged from 6-18, who are predominantly full boarding and are drawn from over 40 countries.

The Junior School is an exciting and homely place to live and learn; it has c.125 pupils aged 5-13, around a third of whom are boarders. It has a wide and varied timetable and enjoys the use of superb modern facilities for sports, the performing arts, outdoor learning and other activities.

We are looking for an inspiring Assistant Head from January 2023 or sooner if possible, to lead and develop our uniquely broad curriculum and, although this is not a residential post, who will play an active role in boarding school life. You will work closely alongside the Head of Junior School and the Assistant Head Pastoral, leading the academic development of our pupils to ensure that each individual child makes the best possible progress.

You will be a creative and inspiring teacher, with experience teaching children within the 5-13 age range, is passionate about working with students who are eager to learn and challenge themselves. You will have a positive ‘can do’ attitude, and embrace our school motto ‘Plus Est En Vous’ (there is more in you) in your approach. You will have experience of managing others and/or discrete areas of school life.
